The Raimondi plastic tile beater is the block you tap tiles down with. Lay it flat on the tile and knock it with a rubber mallet, and the whole tile beds into the adhesive at once, which collapses the trowel ridges, fills the back and takes out lippage against the tile next door. Plastic will not warp in a wet van the way a timber block does.
Use it for
- Bedding floor and wall tiles fully into the adhesive
- Tapping down high corners to level with neighbouring tiles
Features
- Plastic construction that won't warp in humidity
- Grooved flat base stops it suctioning onto the tile
- Offset handle gives a larger striking surface
Specifications
- Thickness: 15 mm
- Material: plastic
Good to know
- Hit it with Raimondi's white rubber mallet, not a steel hammer, and work from the centre of the tile outwards.
- For large format and heavy slabs, the rubber faced anti bounce beater or a vibrator does the job with less effort.
- Wipe adhesive off the base before it dries so it stays flat.
