RLA Quick Set is a calcium chloride based liquid additive that makes cement-based products set and gain initial strength fast. Replace some of the mixing water with Quick Set when you need a job walkable or back in use quickly.
Use it for
- Cement-based tile adhesives, grouts, screeds and renders, or any Portland cement product
- Doorways, stairs, access ramps, repairs and shopping centres where a fast set is needed
- Cold conditions: it works best between 5 °C and 15 °C
How much to use (per 20 kg bag)
| Quick Set | Water | Approx. set time |
|---|---|---|
| 300 ml | 5.7 L | 24 hours |
| 1 L | 5 L | 3 hours |
| 1.5 L | 4.5 L | 2 hours |
Set times vary with the product you add it to, so always mix a trial batch first.
Before you use it
- Don't use below 5 °C, or with reinforced concrete or metallic hardeners: it promotes steel corrosion
- Shortens pot life and open time at normal and warm temperatures
- May not be compatible with other additives
- Strong eye irritant: wear eye protection and read the Safety Data Sheet
5 litre container. Shelf life 12 months unopened; store dry between 5 °C and 30 °C, off cold floors and out of direct sunlight.
