The Raimondi stainless steel slant ridge trowel lays adhesive in angled ridges instead of square ones. When you bed the tile the slanted ridges fold over and overlap, so the adhesive spreads into a solid layer with far fewer air pockets than a standard notch leaves. That means better coverage under large format tiles and less chance of water sitting under outdoor tiles. Choose a 6, 8 or 10 mm notch.
Use it for
- Large format floor and wall tiles where full coverage matters
- Outdoor tiling, balconies and wet areas
Features
- Slanted notches that collapse and overlap when the tile is bedded
- Stainless steel blade, 100 percent rust proof
- Rubber handle on a die cast aluminium core
Specifications
- Blade: 28 x 13 cm
- Notch: 6, 8 or 10 mm
- Raimondi lists the 8 mm as Art. 183HFV8 and the 10 mm as Art. 183HFV10
- Made in Italy
Good to know
- Comb all the ridges in one direction, then set the tile with a slight push across the ridges to collapse them.
- Lift the first tile to check coverage. You should see almost no ridge lines.
- The long bladed version is listed separately for faster spreading.
